Cary/ Apex Tennis League

The Tennis League Network leads a collection of city based internet sites where we connect players on the tennis courts.

Here are some of the domains in our network:
Orlando Tennis, Atlanta Tennis, Cary Tennis

Our playoffs Run after every league.

How do the Playoffs Play?
At league end all players who have won the minimum # of tennis matches as set by the league report web page will have qualified for the single elimination tournament to crown a winner.

Tournaments are Skill Level Based
Tournaments are skill level based; in most examples we only Play 1 division for each skill level. So the qualifying participants from the section will be placed in one tournament bracket. But, in some examples we have multiple divisions of the same level.

Seedings & Brackets
We present all the participants on the League report pages. League Rule #10 is used to set the seedings:
Rule #10) Playoff Positioning
Regular league ties are broken by this order:
1) Overall Record, based on tennis matches over .500. 6-1 is 5 tennis matches over, 8-2 is 6 matches over and would be better.
2) In season Head-to-Head record for players tied after #1
3) We promote players playing matches, so 6-1 would be better than 5-0.
4) % of games won

Say 5 players qualify. In a 5 person single elimination bracket the #1 qualifier will have a first round bye while qualifiers #4 and #5 play a quarter final match where the winner will play the #1 seed in the semi-finals. Seeds #2 and #3 will play in the other semi-final match. The victors of the two semi-finals tennis matches will play for the championship.

Scheduling & Deadlines
The scheduling of the matches follows the same format as the league as we really want the participants to agree on a mutual time and location to play. We do have a rule where the higher seed does have choice of home court. Also the higher seed has choice of serve or side to start the match.

Prize Pool & National Tournament
Once a champion has been crowned we use the prize kitty to honor the participants of the playoffs. The prize pool is based upon the total # of participants in the division of the tournament.

* Some participants get advanced mid-season from a lower skill level.
